A WooCommerce list view plugin provides a neat way of displaying products suitable for many e-commerce online stores. You might want a WooCommerce table listing your products in a structured format. I previously did write about a WordPress table plugin for eCommerce sites. Maybe you have a WooCommerce wholesale store or trade area and need to display products in a less visual, more compact grid format. You could have a large product directory selling books or music. Maybe you want a one-page WooCommerce order form with all your products listed on a single page.
There are many reasons why a website might need a product list view. Surprisingly, WooCommerce doesn’t have a built-in list view shortcode. There are shortcodes for listing products in a standard category-style view, but nothing more structured or compact. Because of this, you might want to improve your store by installing a WooCommerce list view plugin.
Introducing WooCommerce Product Table
In this article, I’ll introduce you to the WooCommerce Product Table plugin. Released just 3 months ago, it has already become one of the top-selling WooCommerce list view plugins worldwide.
As you can tell from its title, the plugin creates a WooCommerce table listing your products. And it’s not just any table. The table has lots of extra features to help your customers find the products they want more quickly.
To add this product list view plugin to your WooCommerce website, all you have to do is install and activate WooCommerce Product Table. Add your license key to the settings page and insert a simple shortcode into any page or text area on your site: [product_table]
The plugin will instantly generate a dynamic WooCommerce table listing all your products. Here’s the plugin promo video which shows different ways it can be used to list products.
And there’s more. Here’s a rundown of WooCommerce Product Table’s main features. These are just some of the ways you can configure the product list view to suit the needs of your website.
1. Choose which columns appear in the WooCommerce table
The product list view plugin supports most of the data that is stored for a WooCommerce product. Each piece of data can be displayed as a separate column in the table.
You can have columns for a product name, SKU, id, description, short description, publish date, categories or tags. You can also include the main product image in the list view. Other data you can display includes reviews, stock, weight, dimensions, and price. If you’re using product attributes or variations, then these can be displayed in the WooCommerce table too.
Most importantly, you can include ‘Add to Cart’ buttons in the table. This lets customers buy products directly from the product list view. They don’t have to click through to the single product page (unless you want them to).
There’s an option to include a ‘select quantity’ dropdown next to the Add to Cart button. You can also display a dropdown for each variation if you’re using variable products. For example, if your product list view includes a T-shirt that is available in small or large then customers can select the quantity required, the size and then add to cart.
2. Help customers search, sort & filter products in the list view
WooCommerce Product Table has several options to help customers find products in the list view.
- You can show, hide or reposition the keyword search box.
- Customers can click on a tag or category to filter the list by that tag/category.
- You can add one or more filters above or below the table. This can include filters for categories, tags or product attributes.
- Customers can click on the name of a column to sort in ascending or descending order.
- They can also choose how many products are listed on each page.
- As you can see, customers have lots of control over how your products are sorted and filtered in the list view.
You can use the shortcode options to choose how the table is presented when it first loads. This includes how the product is sorted and in what order. You can also specify how many rows of products appear on each page of the list view. There’s a choice of 4 styles of pagination buttons.
3. Display other product data using custom fields or taxonomies
It’s worth noting that as well as the standard product data, the WooCommerce table plugin supports custom fields and taxonomies. This unlocks many new possibilities for your product list view.
The fantastic thing is that you can store just about anything in a custom field. For example, you might not want to include an ‘Add to Cart’ column in the table, and add a different type of button instead (e.g. Contact Us). You can do this by adding the HTML code for the button within a custom field. Add the custom field as a column in your product list table and the plugin will display it for you.
You can also use custom fields to add information such as links, icons, images, embedded video, audio files, multimedia playlists, etc.
4. Control which products and categories appear in the WooCommerce list view
The WooCommerce list shortcode displays all your products by default. It also has options to list specific products only. You can include or exclude products by category or ID. You can also create a table that only includes products with a specific tag or date.
The fact that you can have multiple product tables on each page makes this really useful. For example, if you have a music directory website then you can create a page with a subheading for each musical genre. After each subheading, you can add a WooCommerce table listing products in the relevant category. This creates a user-friendly directory, all on a single page of your website.
5. Lazy load option for large WooCommerce product directories
By default, the WooCommerce list view plugin loads all the products together. This makes features such as the instant searching work smoothly, with no delay for the customer.
If your WooCommerce site has hundreds or thousands of products, then you can use the lazy load option. This loads the products one page at a time, preventing any performance hit.
6. You can also use the product list view plugin on WooCommerce category pages
WooCommerce Product Table is mostly designed to be used on standard WordPress pages and posts. The documentation includes instructions on how to automatically replace the products on your WooCommerce category pages with the new list view shortcode. This requires a bit of technical knowledge but works well if you want to completely replace the traditional category layout.
7. It looks good with your WordPress theme
The WooCommerce product list view will inherit styling from your theme so details such as the fonts and colors will match nicely. You can do any further styling with CSS, but this probably won’t be needed for most websites.
Who’s behind the plugin?
With tens of thousands of WordPress plugins available, I’d only recommend using ones from a reputable company.
WooCommerce Product Table – the WooCommerce list view plugin – is developed and supported by Barn2 Media. They’re one of the UK’s longest established WordPress companies.
The plugin comes with 12 months support from their UK WordPress experts. All support is provided directly by email, and you won’t get lost in the usual ticketing systems. They’ll help you get up and running with your product list view as quickly as possible.
Final Thoughts
The product table plugin is the easiest and best way of creating a WooCommerce list view. It’s easy to use but has plenty of options if you want to delve into the documentation in more detail. This lets you use it to achieve simple or more advanced product lists.
If you want a structured WooCommerce layout that lets customers view all your products in one place, then you should definitely consider this plugin. It’s very good value for money given the number of features and ease of use.

Wow, looks VERY powerful! Very simple, effective, and easy to use and navigate, sounds like a great option for any WordPress site that relies on woocommerce. Gonna bookmark this page for later.
I have a question,n though, I have a wp site that I’ve installed the Divi theme on it, it’s a fantastic theme and the most responsive and user-friendly theme I’ve ever seen. Do you recommend this plugin for Divi or should I find an alternative option that is designed specifically to work with my selected theme?
Garen says
Yes, this plugin will work great with Divi by Elegant Themes. I don’t know of any issues where this plugin doesn’t integrate well with 🙂

Well, it’s about time! That is a nice plugin until I came to your page I didn’t know that WooCommerce had even released this. It’s exactly what I need, even down to the lazy loading aspect.
Thanks for such an in-depth review!
Based on what you’re saying above it looks like we can customize the grid to our heart’s content, does this include adding our own text and descriptions? It looked like that’s what you were getting at, I just wanted some specific clarity.
Thanks again,
Jack
Garen says
Actually, this is an extra that isn’t created by WooCommerce. Barn2 developed this add-on that you can integrate with WooCommerce.
Yes, that means you can add your own text and descriptions. Really a pretty neat plugin that makes it easier to create more appealing eCommerce websites.

Very interesting information and I think for a lot of people selling items they have made themselves this is very handy. It actually looks like anyone could use something like this plugin for comparisons on any product. Thank you.
