It’s been said that people don’t typically buy your products or services the first time they arrive at your website. Therefore, it’s very important to start building a email list. This helps provide them valuable information and keeps your websites name fresh in their mind. In order to grow a email list you’re going to need to install an email optin plugin to capture your users attention. Below are the top 19 email optin plugins I have discovered.

This is a great compilation of email opt-in plugins. I, too, subscribe to the fact that it is important to build your list. Having a list and maintaining communication with your list is a great way of establishing credibility and trust, two things that are vital for conversion. I have been using MailChimp for a while now and I have been quite satisfied with the features is provides me. One plugin “SumoMe“ caught my attention, though, as you say it is currently trusted by many popular websites. Sounds interesting. Does it really help drive traffic to your site?

Hey Kathy,
It’s been said that people don’t typically buy something the first time they are on a website. I have heard that the 7th time they usually buy. Therefore, an email opt-in is a must. I actually neglected to do one for years.
I use MailChimp too. I have been using it for 4 years now. It’s very easy to use, and the price tag is pretty cheap.
As far as SuMoMe is concerned, I haven’t used that plugin yet. They did publish this article which shows 130+ ways to get traffic, though:

I’ve been searching for a decent email optin plugin for my WordPress blog because I want to take my blog to the next level.
The trouble is, with so many different email subscriber plugins available, it’s hard to choose one to run with.
But I really appreciate the 19 plugins you’ve recommended because it at least helps to narrow down my search.
Personally, I think SUMO ME, and Mail Chimp are the 2 choices I would like to start out with.
Thanks for your email optin plugin recommendations, and I’ll certainly be testing a few of them out in due course.

The best thing is SUMO ME and MailChimp both have free plans, too. This really helps people that are on a tight budget. I started out with MailChimps free plan. That was years ago, though.

I use Hellobar to get people to sign up to my Aweber email list. It works well with Aweber and is easy to use. Although you might tend to think of Hellobar as being a small bar that appears at the top of your website, you can use Hellobar to create more types of pop-up than just the bar. I use it to create a large pop-up, and I have it set to only show when people are going to leave my website.
This is good because it means you capture people just when they are leaving. It is one last chance to grab their attention. Although you can sign up to the premium version of Hellobar, which enables you to have as many pop-ups as you like and redirect people to a custom URL, I personally just use the free version which works just fine.
